Thanks Dave! I'd love to catch a ride with someone and check out the lsj. If anyone has room for me I'd happily chip in gas, snacks and help with whatever needs done.

Born and raised on the southwest side of Houston, (Alief) now have a house in Katy / Richmond area. West Park Toll Way and Peek, boat in garage. Mostly ride LSJ, but go to Summerville, Fayetteville and Lake Travis sometimes.

I live of mason and 1-10 and it take maybe an hour and 20 minutes to get to somerville.  however right now somerville needs some water.

Hey Buck...what are your thoughts on Fayetteville? I've only seen it on a map. It seems about the same distance as Somerville. How is the depth? Is it stumpy? Thanks for the info because I would hate to waste a day on the water just searching.

Only good in winter, it is a power plant lake that gets very hot in the summer, also only good spot is along dam and fishermen will give you fits.

jim.hendrix, my brother goes to Fayetteville fishing and hasn't had any problems with stumps. He has heard about under water structures. People have said there is an old train track and even an old house but it is not confirmed nor is the location. He is working on that.

I am in Eagle Lake, just South of Sealy and I try to go to Somerville. If anyone needs a 2nd or 3rd let me know. And no, there is not public access to Eagle Lake. it's not very deep and very full of gators.
I'm all over it like gravy on chicken fried steak.

Hey everyone, I am new to the site and new to riding a wakeboard.

I like in south houston and ride out in clear lake area.
I am learning to ride while getting pulled behind my jetski.

Goofyboy Ė yeah itís about an hour and haft to Summerville depending on traffic and how fast you wanna driveÖ lol

Jim.hendrix Ė like RICHSUR said, Fayetteville is nice in the winter months only! Itís a power plant lake so itís a warm water lake. Way to warm in the summer months! But when it starts to get a lil cold Iíll go up there a lot! Thereís a lot of fisherman but more the most part they still off in the coves on the shoreline fishing or back in the trees. On the back wall of the lake, the ďdam wallĒ is most of the time the best to ride but there is one big cove on the left before that, that is nice just donít go all the way to the back of the cove. (lots of trees) but Iíve been all over that cove and never hit anything wakeboarding and surfing.

Man I wish I could meet for a Katy happy hour! Iím in Iraq working right now; I think I will be here until the end of the year or early next yearÖ

Ha I spend a good bit of time out there at Moe's Place myself. I'm in for Happy Hour! Would be nice to meet some other boarders in a none boating atmosphere. Have y'all checked out the new place on 99? "Wild River" I believe (not to bad).
