GCWA Event Rules


The following rules have been put in place by your elected board.  These rules are for your safety and the safety of others.  Also, these rules have been put in place to comply with sponsor and event locations requests.  Please abide by the rules, as they are being enforced.


Tournament Rules


Any person riding in a tournament must sign a waiver before riding.  You will not be allowed to compete without a waiver.  If you are under the age of 18, you must have your parents sign the waiver.


Any person riding in a tournament must be of sound mental faculties at the time of the tournament.


Any person riding in a tournament must have a personal flotation device.  Helmets are required for hitting rails (if applicable, as sliders at HWC are off limits).



General Rules

Alcohol - NO UNDERAGE DRINKING ALLOWED AT ANY  GCWA EVENTS.  Persons that are underage and caught drinking during a GCWA sanctioned event will be asked to leave as soon as they are able.  GCWA does not condone the use of alcohol at any GCWA sanctioned events.  Please drink responsibly.  Public intoxication will not be tolerated.  Persons that cannot control their drinking or cause problems while drinking will no longer be welcome at GCWA sanctioned events.


Facilities - Respect all Facilities, remember you are invited guest.  Please

pick-up after yourselves.  Dispose of trash, cigarette butts, etc properly,

NOT on the ground.


Boats - GCWA asks that you respect individual boat owner’s rules.  If you are not sure about what is or is not allowed on a particular boat, please ask the owner.


Website - Please keep in mind that the GCWA website is a family oriented website. Posts that are questionable will be deleted.  Please do not take offence to any post being deleted.



Houston Water Sports Complex Rules


Swimming – Swimming is permitted in the designated area of the lake.  There is NO lifeguard.  Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.


Trash – DO NOT leave trash sitting out.  Garbage cans are provided in the facility. Please pick up after yourself.  Please DO NOT put cigarette butts out on the ground.  Use an empty can, bottle or sand filled bucket.


Damage - Damage or destruction of any property will be paid for by the responsible party.  Management, owners and GCWA are not responsible for injury to persons, pets or for loss or damage of personal property caused by fire, theft, accidents, or acts of God.


Safety – Parents must be in charge of their children and pets at all times.  Children are not allowed to play near water without supervision.  anagement and GCWA are not responsible for accidents.


Alcohol - NO UNDERAGE DRINKING ALLOWED.  NO BOTTLES OR GLASS CONTAINERS ALLOWED. You will not be allowed to compete if you have been drinking.  


Parking - Parking is permitted along the street, before the round-a-bout.  THERE IS NO PARKING INSIDE OF THE HWC FENCE.  THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE ROUND-A-BOUT!!!!!!!!!  If you park in the round-a-bout or block any part of any private driveway, you will be towed at your own expense.


Restrooms - Please use the restrooms that are provided for the event.  These will be located outside of the main building on the grass.  Restrooms inside are for EMPLOYEES ONLY.
