SO this is a long ways off - almost 4 months away, but I wanted to encourage everyone on here who wakeskates from my ability (beginner) to the likes of Ace or Sammy (outlaw) to set this Saturday aside.  The four division concept is unique to wakeskate competitions - this means that you can actually compete for insane prize packages as a beginner or intermediate, and advanced (no sandbaggin please!).  And the pro cash payout is one of the biggest for any event this year, so expect to see a lot of pros showup for this, not just Texans.  One note, the 1st place prizes are worth $600, the second place worth $450, thrid place $175 and fourth $50.  As a beginner you don't get second-rate prizes, you get full on love!  The total cash and prize payout is estimated at $7500 minimum, and with enough entrants can go as high as $10K!  (LSWSJ gives all profits back to the riders, this is a not for profit venture)  That doesn't count the other free swag that will be available to riders and spectators.

Even for the non-wakeskater, this will be a fun event to watch and hangout, some sick bands, great riding with double-seedoo format for minimum of delays - so come watch the fastest growing segment of wakesports.  One sweet change, this year there are no entry fees for just coming to hangout and watch (thanks Daniel and M2!).

So the only thing is that a few people in the industry have been talking smack, saying that although Houston is a bigger metro area than Austin-SA, that y'all don't support events and contests as well, and that this year's event will not be as big as having it in New Braunfels.  So my challenge to the members of this board and to the Houston wake community - mark your calendars and plan to be @ LSWSJ on Aug 12th and show those wallys what a real town can do!
